How Does Sin Affect our goal
How Does Sin Affect Your Daily
Life?
What is Sin?
Sin is a thought, a thought that creates negative actions. The job of sin is
to Destroy, It's that
simple.
What we want to accomplish here is putting a face to sin. It doesn't want this,
it wants to go undetected because you have the power to turn away, if you know
what your turning away from.
What kind of actions have you felt sorry for? You know, trees never started
as trees, they started as seeds. You were never just angry, it started as a
spark and over time grew into a fire.
Many things we can't see, but we know they are there. We know air exists,
but can you see it? We know microwaves exist, but can you smell it? We know
gravity exists, but can you taste it? I do believe the point is made that sin
exists, but we don't always know how to deal with it. It may be we don't want
to admit that it controls us, but that doesn't make it so.
One place to start is by viewing the sins deemed most deadly, these 7 will cover a lot of
problems you will face. I should say many of the problems we all face.
How Did Sin Start?
The origin of sin took place even before Adam and Eve were created (Genesis.
1:26-27). The beginning of sin took place prior to the creation of the heaven
and earth (Genesis 1:1). Remember that before Adam sinned, there was already a sinful creature who was in the Garden of
Eden and who was in a fallen and wicked condition. Who was this
creature (Genesis 3:1 and Revelation 12:9) To find out about the ORIGIN of sin,
we need to learn about the first sinner. Adam was the first human
sinner, but he was not the first sinner.
Some people who try to blame everything on God might say, "Why did God
allow all this evil to come into the world?" "How can a loving God be
in charge of a world that is so filled with trouble and evil and sorrow?"
Have you ever heard people say such things?
You can read many different places about how sin was born, but what we care
about is how we deal with it now. If you want to blame anybody start with Adam
and Eve.
God told Adam and Eve, "But you must not eat from the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die"
(Genesis 2:17).
Blaming won't solve our problems, it just defers it to a later date, what
you need is to understand what and how to deal with it.
Overcoming Sin
This is the hardest part, overcoming sin that is, because the world has made
all sorts of excuses we can use to justify it.
The end result still remains that sin wants to destroy you. Fast or slow it
has a job to do and it does it very well. It will also use you to hurt other,
others you would not normally hurt. The reason it does this is because these
people trust you, you have better access to their lives and sin uses you to
hurt them.
This battle is fought between your ears, in you mind. It's said many times
in the bible "protect your mind". If you believe the bible is the
instruction manual for our ongoing maintenance, then your mind is a vital part
for success.
The fact is we’re all bombarded with temptations of sin, T.V. is a subtle
way into our thoughts, marketing is a way to stimulate your wants, debt is a
way to get what you want NOW, I'm sure you can think of hundreds more ways you
are tempted.
The question remains, how to overcome sin?
Unfortunately, from experience, my answer is not good. Speaking in
generalities, we don't wake up until something bad happens. I've listened to
people complain on Monday about how badly their boy/girl friend had treated
them over the weekend, only to go right back for more the next weekend and repeat
this over and over again.
Can we help each other? Yes we can, you can share you story over at Sin No More, your story can touch people
in many ways. The Internet allows us to reach people we don't know.
