Thank You Lord
Psalm 55:22A – “Are You
Burden Down?”
Psalm 55:22A – Cast your burden on
the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be
moved.
ARE YOU BURDEN DOWN?
If your answer is yes to this question, I have good news
for you on today. God is calling you to cast your cares upon Him for He cares
for you.
We are reminded on today in 1
Peter 5:7 – Cast all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about us. We
are to “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He will
lift you up in due time.” When we humble ourselves, we put ourselves in God’s
authority. It is no more me, myself and I, it is now about God.
Cast means to throw off, letting
go or releasing. We are going to throw off of us pain, heartache, trouble,
worry, doubt, fear, depression, anxiety and all the other burdens and cares of
this world and place them on Jesus. He has given us permission to do so!
Just in case you did not know,
Jesus is your “Burden Bearer”! Jesus offers to lighten the heavy burdens you
have been carrying around that is weighing you down. We are invited to throw
off our burdens and accept the gentle yoke of Jesus. He is willing to receive
it, only if we are willing to surrender them to Him.
When God takes away our burdens,
he exchanges it for rest.
In our world today, we are faced
with all kinds of endless demands and relentless schedules. All which can leave
us feeling empty, drained, burdened and spiritually malnourished.
We all know the physical and
emotionally wear and tear of burdens. They take over everything, including our
thoughts. Burdens affect our relationships with our children, our spouses, our
families, our coworkers, etc. Burdens can also rob you of sleep and can put a
hold on your life, making you stagnant.
The spiritual outcome of being
burdened down is worse. Our devotion to God declines. We no longer find time
for prayer and study of God’s Word and fellowship with other believers because
we are too burden down with things that are not important and things that we
probably have no control over anyway!
Burdens causes us to doubt God’s
promises, His faithfulness and His love for us, therefore, we MUST rid
ourselves of the responsibility of carrying around unwanted, unneeded and
unnecessary burdens. How do we do that? We start with a commitment and
surrender to the will of God for our lives. Casting off self and making a total
surrender of our will to God’s will. He does know what is best for us!
Our burdens must be completely given to Him, without
hesitation. That is where our trust in Him comes into focus. Proverbs 3:5-6 –
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in
all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Remember that when God says to acknowledge Him, the root
of this word is “know” and when we remember that it is God who we are trusting,
our confidence level is raised through the roof.
Regardless of what you may be going through this morning,
regardless of the condition or situation you may find yourself in this morning,
God cares for you and He is willing and able to take your burdens.
ARE YOU BURDENED DOWN?
Be mindful of this: As bad as your
situation may look to you, remember, there is someone in worse shape than you,
therefore you should still tell God thank you!
Has God not been good to you? I
would say yes, if you have eyes to see and is able to read this blog!
Look at Job, Joseph, Daniel,
Elijah, 3 Hebrew boys, Paul and Silas, but most of all, look at Jesus! The burden
of a sinless God having to take on the sins of the world!
Do not worry, do not fret because
the good news of the Gospel is this, Jesus has done the work for us”! Jesus
lifted our burdens at Calvary where He shed His blood!
Jesus is speaking these words of
comfort to you on today! John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that
in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage;
I have overcome the world.
Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me,
all you who are weary and burdened, & I will give you rest. Take my yoke
upon you & learn from me, for I am gentle & humble in heart,& you
will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy & my burden light.”
Jesus offer of rest for the weary,
wounded and burdened down is still available today. His peace and rest never
runs out, and He is never tired nor weary in His giving. Will you accept God’s
rest on today?
Here are a few words from an old
familiar hymn “I feel better so much better, since I’ve laid my burdens down. I
feel better so much better since I’ve laid my burdens down.”
Song: Leave it there! If the world
from you withhold of its silver and its gold, And you have to get along with
meager fare,
Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Refrain—-Leave it there, leave it
there. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. If you trust and never
doubt, He will surely bring you out. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it
there.
If your body suffers pain and your
health you can’t regain,
And your soul is almost sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
And your soul is almost sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Refrain- When your enemies assail
and your heart begins to fail,
Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer; He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer; He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Refrain- When your youthful days
are gone and old age is stealing on,
And your body bends beneath the weight of care; He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
And your body bends beneath the weight of care; He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
God bless and do tell the Lord
thank you for being your burden bearer on this morning!
I love you all with the love of
Christ!
